Adventure

Adventurer\\\

  Traveler

  Risk Taker

Casey and I recently started watching the show Lost. We are only on the third season ( so no spoilers!!!) but I am so jealous of the characters on the show. Really!! I am Now, don't get me wrong, I would never want to be "lost" on an unknown hidden island in the middle of nowhere, or be at risk of being eaten by some weird smoke monster creature that lives in the forest, but I think it is so cool that they get to build things and create things by hand and live in a constant state of adventure and exploration.

Although it may only be a TV show, I admire the skill of the writers for creating such an intricate, interconnected, and evocative story that has truly inspired me. It sparked the idea to try and look at things differently each day, and to want to be able to explore a new place every day and to see things that I have never seen before.

It has also inspired me to get my butt into gear on many aspects of my life (physical, mental and for our business) because if the world as I knew it ended today and I was forced to live on a deserted island for the rest of my life, would I be happy with the life I have lived here so far? Have I seen enough? Tried enough? No I haven't.

Adventure inspires me.

One of my new goals in life is to spend at least 30 minutes a day trying something new. This could be running further than I have ever ran before, or something as simple as driving a new route on my way home to see if an adventure finds me along the journey, I don't want it to be planned but to let my adventure happen organically.

One area where I normally don't like being adventurous in is with my food. I am extremely picky with anything edible. That is one of the main reasons I am pescatarian (vegetarian + fish) because I don't like being surprised on what I find on my plate. Casey is always begging me to try new places and do new things, if it were up to him, he would probably eat at a different place every meal and live in a different city every week.

Lost along with Casey's sense of adventure has started to rub off on me. So today on our way to Subway for lunch I saw a little Vietnamese place and decided to try out their food.....wow...vegetarian vietnamese sandwiches are ammmmmazing. And they are only $3.50. I am not sure where we can go wrong with that combination!

With my 30 min goal checked off for today, all I have to say is I can't wait to explore more and try more. Its addicting!

A couple weeks ago, Casey and I traveled down to California for Sarah Jane and Riz's engagement session. The rest of their images will come this week, but I thought I would post a few since we are on the topic of adventure.

Sarah Jane and Riz = adventure.

Sarah Jane and Riz literally ran out into the waves full force, without even thinking twice. They were purely in the moment. Captivated by adventure. I admire them for that.
