Brianne & Justin || Sunshine & Lemonade

My mom has known Brianne's family for a long time and she has always told everyone about our photography and how proud she is of us. Last year, when Brianne got engaged, Brianne and her mom drove over from Yakima to meet with us. Our business used to be based in Yakima and over the years we have gotten the opportunity to go back every once in a while.

Here some great things that I love about shooting a wedding in Yakima:

1. You always know the weather is going to be bright and sunny!

2. there is always free parking at the venues that are easy to find

3. Everything is close together. The drive is less than 15 minutes WITH traffic to anywhere in the city

4. The people are so welcoming and kind

5. I get to load and backup all the photos sitting on my parent's overstuffed couch...yes please!

On to the wedding day:

I met Brianne at the Salon to capture some photos of her getting ready. Brianne was beaming! I don't think I have ever seen her so happy and excited. They curled her hair and pinned it up so the curls would last and she would just pull the pins out right before she saw Justin. I teased Brianne that Casey would look awesome how it was. Both Casey and Justin's mom thought her hair should be left like that.

One of Brianne's family friends was nice enough to let Brianne get ready in her house and then shoot in and around their yard. Of course Casey and I found all the nooks that no one expected we would shoot in such as the field, truck, and shed.

Since the day was so much about family coming together, Casey and I focused on capturing the little "mini stories" throughout the day. The smallest interaction, touch, laughter all of which make the wedding day so special and unique.

Even though it was super hot, all the guests enjoyed themselves to the fullest. They drank strawberry lemonade and snacked on mini sandwiches and pasta salad overlooking the valley. The little kids played with toys and ran around in the grass. And then at the end we took Brianne & Justin aside for a few more photos in the nice afternoon light.
