Move
Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:25PM Tweet From when I was very young, my mom instilled in me that if I set a goal I can achieve it. Every year we visited my grandparents in California for Thanksgiving. We always stayed at their beach house near Santa Cruz, and at night my mom and I would curl up in bed with the cool sea breeze filtering in the window and the sound of the waves crashing along the shore. She would pull out her colored notecards and we would write out our goals. She was so patient as I listed out everything from being a doctor to learning a new dance move. Some of my goals were small and could be achieved in a day and others would take more time and would be added to the list every year. As I got older and grew, the goals and aspirations changed and grew too.
In one of the newsletters I received today I saw the quote "You can't achieve success if you are not moving toward something." I felt a connection to this quote and it reminded me of those times with my mom. In both business and in my personal life we are constantly setting goals for the future. We are constantly working with "movement" whether it's the juxtaposition of two frames of film in cinema, or the placement and flow of the story within a photo album. Movement plays a huge role in everything we do and it plays a role in achieving goals as well; being in a constant growth phase, always evolving, growing, learning.
Movement, the word, is also related to moments. And Moments tell stories, and move viewers to connect to them. Here are two pictures from a recent family session in which two moments tell a story through movement..I encourage you to think about where you are, where you want to be and to set your goals to achieve it.

Inspriring... I wrote a post similiar to this yesterday. You're right. If you stay stagnant in life, you'll never see progress or improvement.
